Iced Sencha Sakura Cherry Green Tea 🍒

Iced Sencha Sakura Cherry Green Tea 🍒

The blooming of cherry blossoms called "sakura" across Japan marks the end of winter and the coming of warm weather and merriment. What a perfect way to celebrate summer with a large jug of iced green tea! Combining our Sencha Sakura Cherry tea with our Brandied Cherries, this iced tea checks all the boxes.

1 Jug (4 cups)

2 Tsp Sencha Sakura Cherry Green Tea
4 cups hot water
½ cup simple syrup
Juice from ½ lemon
1 jar Brandied Cherries

- Steep the Sencha Sakura Cherry green tea in 4 cups of hot water for 10 minutes. Strain the leaves out with a fine mesh strainer and chill the tea in the fridge until completely cool.

- While tea is cooling make the simple syrup. Combine ½ cup water and ½ cup sugar in a small saucepan and heat until the sugar is melted. Set syrup aside to cool completely. The syrup will last in the fridge for up to 1 week, so you can make this in advance. This syrup could also be used in iced coffee, mocktail, or a cocktail.

- Once everything is chilled, stir in the simple syrup, juice from 1 lemon, and the juice from the entire jar of brandied cherries. You can add in half the jar of cherries to the jug or put some in individual glasses. Pour over ice and enjoy! Iced tea will last in fridge for up to 4 days.

- The good thing about Iced tea is that you can add or omit whatever you want according to your taste. Depending on how sweet you like your tea, you can leave some of the simple syrup out.

You could also add some gin, or your favourite liquor to make it an iced tea cocktail!
