COVID-19 news from Prince Edward Island. Thank you, Dr. Morrison.

To bide some time this week, I decided to bake cookies. We have near finished eating the first 70 cookies. I am in a rush to do so because I wish to do it a little differently next time. If truly successful, I will share photos and the recipe next week. My favourite is an oatmeal raisin cookie with a bit of crunch.

Why Islanders are baking and cooking their way through the COVID-19 pandemic.

At our shop, we have all but shut down. Two staff members on their own fruition are keeping things going. Thank you, Sian and Jeremy. We are still shipping mail order while working in different parts of the building. For the most part, no one else comes into the building.

Thank you to all who are ordering from us, as well!

During these times, there are so many beautiful stories of people helping people.

Such as churches and their congregational networks doing goodness such as assisting shut-ins to source food, sewing masks for front-line workers, and prayer, lots of prayers.

When fear runs the day, love is stifled to show the light.

I enjoyed what this young man had to tell the world. What we can learn about this COVID-19 time from a nonspeaking autistic teen.

Over the last few days, we binged watched The English Game on Netflix. I don’t watch much television, but this was worth the time. The story, the people, and life lessons around caring and character were cleverly woven into the story of how “football/soccer” got its start.

I am guilty of having not written down the source of the list of character traits below. I hope the contributor will forgive me. Thank you for writing it in such a concise fashion.

Integrity – do the right thing, even when no one is looking.

Hardworking = digs in and gets to work and doesn’t stop till the jobs done.

Today, I have been listening to a piece of music that, after hearing it many years ago, began my interest in classical music.

I first heard Spiegel im Spiegel on Tempo, a CBC radio program.

As the host of Tempo, Julie Nesrallah brings classical music to life with enthusiasm. The show offers the glorious beauty and genius of classical music. Julie brings it alive with stories about the human experience, together with the lives and loves of the great composers.

Avro Part is the composer of Speigel im Speigel and many other beautiful pieces of music. Many musical authorities say he is the “greatest living composer” of this time.

Yesterday, Sian, while parking her car at work, caught this little battle of the birds below. She recorded this for over three minutes with no change in their behaviour.
