In all the world
There’s nothing like
The sound of falling snow –
The only noise
I’ve ever known
That makes the clocks move slow.
The only sound
That sweeps away
The din of city streets,
And wraps around,
In soft embrace,
’Most everyone it meets.
A sound that’s not
A sound at all –
A quiet, soft and dear,
That comforts all
The sleepy souls
Who sit, and watch, and hear.

These are beautiful photos. Thank you! I always love the first snowfall. When we had ours last week here in Downeast Maine my husband and I were out dancing in the falling snow in the night. The poem says it all.

Beautiful photo’s of your first snow bring back memories of my childhood growing up in rural Nova Scotia. They fill me with gratitude having experienced that wonder, as a child, in the fields which surrounded our home. Seemed like mountains of snow then!!
Stirs the memory of simpler Christmases where Church gatherings were the highlight while joining with friends to sing in the choir. Visiting family and friends. Walking to the Post Office in hopes that a few Christmas cards have arrived! Of course, the smell of Mom’s fruitcake was very comforting and delicious!
The poem you posted says it all..beautiful. Thanks for stirring the best memories!
Merry Christmas to you and all your family!
