What You'll Need:
-
2 slices of your favourite bread
-
1 1/2 tbsp mayonnaise
-
1 to 2 tbsp Hot Pepper Jelly
-
1/3 cup grated smoked cheddar
-
1 cheese slice
-
2 to 3 thin slices prosciutto
How to Make:
-
Spread mayo on the outside of both bread slices, edge to edge. (Trust us, mayo gives you the crispiest, most golden crust!)
-
Flip the bread mayo side down. Pile the grated smoked cheddar on one slice. Spread the pepper jelly on the other slice, or go wild and spread it on both.
-
Layer the prosciutto over the cheddar, top with the cheese slice, and close it up.
-
Heat a frying pan over medium low. Cook 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown and the cheese is fully melty. Low and slow is the secret, so the outside doesn't brown before the middle melts.
-
Slice on the diagonal (it just tastes better that way) and dig in!
Tip: Pop a lid on the pan for the first side to help the cheese melt faster.
