Taste of PEI

Missing Prince Edward Island?

You are not the only one. With everything being shut down or restricted due to Covid 19, things have been very different.

It has caused people to be creative about how to stay in touch with family and friends. It is not as easy as sitting out on a deck in the summer with extended family members while awaiting a summer BBQ.

Many people have come to Prince Edward Island every year for years.  But thanks to COVID, friends or families may not have seen each other for over a year and a half.

When you taste food from Prince Edward Island, the flavour may conjure up many great memories— family time, a day at the beach, lobster suppers, a visit to Prince Edward Island Preserve Co. and The Gardens of Hope.

The slower pace is something that draws people out of the hustle and bustle of large city centers. In 2020 we missed visitors coming to our fair isle.

It is now spring on the Island after having a relatively mild winter. The ice did not get built up this winter, resulting in the coastlines becoming clear of ice earlier than usual. That said, there is much beauty to be found on the beach no matter the time of year.

The snow has melted, the birds are singing, and new life is joyfully expressed not only in nature but visible through mask-covered faces. People are out and about walking, doing yard work, and anticipating the summer to come. Thoughts of gardening, outdoor activities, BBQing, and summer plans have started to flood one's mind.

One way that we like to bring a bit of cheer to those who would have usually come to visit is to have a Taste of PEI delivered right to your door. We produce a variety of unique foods at the Preserve Company. Our low sugar preserves, salsa's, potato spices, chowder mix, and our teas are sure to be a treat.

We are proud to carry many of the Island's well-known foods as well.  Cows' cheese, their delicious chocolate-covered potato chips, Lucky Fox,  Fortune Brinery Pickles, Maritime Marzipan, Receiver Fresh Roasted Coffee, Maritime Madness Hot Sauces, and local pottery, to name a few.

As you can see, there are many different treats to rekindle memories.

I hope as you sit reading today, you consider having a Taste of PEI sent to you, friend or family.
