Filling My Own Cup Before I Ask Anyone Else To
I’ve been preaching slow mornings, little rituals, and the power of a good pause for a while now. So it’s a little funny to admit that lately I’ve been doing the opposite. I’ve been avoiding my own joy without even realizing it.
Where I’ve Been Losing Myself
I haven’t had a full morning at the beach this summer. I haven’t taken my convertible out for one of those long drives with no destination. I haven’t spent real time in my nest, the spot where I can just watch the trees, listen to the birds, and be with my journal, my cookbook planning, and my oracle cards. Instead I’ve been filling my calendar just to fill up my calendar.
Don’t get me wrong, staying busy isn’t the problem. But somewhere along the way I started giving my power away, letting other people and other experiences fill my cup instead of doing that work myself first. That’s a hard thing to admit, but I think it’s worth saying out loud because I know I’m not the only one who does this.
Coming Back to Myself
So this week I got more intentional about where I let myself just be. I love a good bath, especially with the window cracked open. My morning matcha is non negotiable. I’ve been sitting with my crystals, doing self reiki, and ending the day with a calm cup of tea that settles my whole nervous system. Nothing fancy, just mine.

Why I Named This Nourished
It brought me right back to why I named this blog and my new wellness line Nourished in the first place. The question I keep coming back to is simple: how can we pause long enough to actually nourish ourselves, before we look anywhere else for that feeling?
What’s Been Blooming in the Gardens of Hope
That’s actually part of why this year has felt so special in the Gardens of Hope. We’ve hosted a beautiful lineup of yoga sessions and sound baths, and this past weekend we brought in a Reiki, tarot, and medium session that was honestly one of the most beautiful things we’ve done here. It’s been my dream for a couple of years now to host full retreats, and this season feels like our stepping stone toward that. If you’ve been on the fence about signing up for one of these sessions, this is your sign. I highly recommend it.
A Little Reminder in the Mail
At our Nourished launch, we had a small group of women together talking about what fills their cups, and I loved that conversation so much. I gave each guest a little watercolor postcard and asked them to write themselves a note about how they can nourish themselves going forward. I mailed those out this week, so each of them will get a small reminder in the mail to pause and reset, right when they probably need it most.

What Fills Your Cup?
So I’ll ask you the same thing I asked them. What are some ways you nourish yourself? Maybe it’s a bath with the window open, a drive with no destination, or twenty quiet minutes with a journal. Whatever it is, I hope you’re giving yourself permission to do it before you look for it anywhere else.
If you need a little nudge in that direction, our curated gift boxes were built for exactly this. Each one is really an invitation to pause, whether that’s for you or someone you love who could use the reminder too.
Lots of love,
Marsha
