Yes, we have done weddings. And we've done them well. There is nothing quite like watching a bride and groom pull off a day with a hundred little details, all coming together into something they'll remember forever. We've been part of so many of those days now, and every single one has taught us something.
Between the weddings and our work with Brunch for Wishes, Adam, I, and our management team realized something important. We don't have to wait for someone else's big day to create these moments. We can build our own intimate gatherings, right here on our property, exactly the way we want to do them. Lol, it took us a minute to figure that out, but here we are.
Creating events that feel like a full experience, not just a meal, has been a dream of mine and our Director of Culinary for a while now. We kept talking about it, sketching out ideas, and finally decided it was time to just do it.
So let me introduce you to An Evening in the Gardens.
This Is My Romanticizing Life Era
If you've been following my journey lately, you know I am fully in my romanticizing life era. I want the linen napkins. I want mismatched vintage doilies passed down from someone's grandmother. I want a table that looks like it was set with love, not pulled from a catalogue. Setting the table has become this little ritual for me, and I wanted to build an entire evening around that feeling.
I'm also just done with small talk. I want the real conversations. The ones where you lean in, put your phone away, and actually connect with the people around you. That's the whole heart of this event.
More Than Dinner
This isn't your typical night out. We're talking long tables stretched across the grass, vintage linens and doilies mixed in with fresh florals, and a whole lot of nostalgia woven into every detail. It's set right in our Gardens of Hope, which already holds so much meaning for our community, and now it gets to hold this too.
Intimate is the word I keep coming back to. Small enough that it feels personal. Special enough that you'll be thinking about it long after you go home, and hopefully having a conversation you'll actually remember.
Our First One: September 12
I am so excited to share that our very first Evening in the Gardens lands on September 12, and we're kicking things off with Chef Christine Flynn. Christine is a three time cookbook author who has hosted intimate dinners like this all across Canada, including recently at her own property, Drifters Rest. She has this gift for creating experiences that make you feel like you're romanticizing life a little. Al fresco, simple, but somehow still so special.
Here's how the evening will unfold. I'll be kicking things off hosting 'appy hour’, then Christine takes it away from there with a multiple course meal, sharing stories along the way about her latest venture, her third cookbook, Easy Does It. And we've got live entertainment by DRFTR woven throughout the night to keep that easy, nostalgic energy going.
That's exactly the energy we want for this. Nothing fussy. Just really good food, really good company, and a setting that does a lot of the talking on its own.
We want to be clear that this is an experience, not just a dinner reservation. From the moment you arrive at the Gardens, you're part of something we've been dreaming up for a long time.

We can't wait to welcome you to the table.
Lots of Love,
Marsha
