What You'll Need:
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp Chai Spice Loose Tea
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 tbsp Maple Syrup
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise
- 2 orange rounds
- 1/4 cup whipped cream, for topping
- Ground cinnamon, for dusting
- Optional: 3 ounces Deep Roots Distillery Spiced Apple Liqueur
How to Make:
-
Bring the water to a boil, turn off the heat and stir in the Chai Spice Loose Tea. Steep for about 8 minutes. Make it strong since the cider will mellow it out.
-
Strain the tea into a small saucepan and add the apple cider, maple syrup, cinnamon stick, star anise and orange rounds. Warm over low heat for 5 to 10 minutes. Don't let it boil.
-
Pour into two mugs and add 1.5 oz of apple liqueur to each.
-
Top with a dollop of whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon.
Extras: Stir a splash of oat milk or cream into each mug for a chai latte vibe, or whisk a drizzle of our Maple Syrup into the whipped cream for an extra special topping.
