I am Going to be a Dog in 2015!

Good Morning to All and to All a Good Morning, 

I went for a walk yesterday in the Gardens of Hope with our dog Stewart. As it was a brisk and cold Minus 12, I couldn't help think of his loyalty in coming for walks regardless of weather. He could have stayed in the car but he playfully jumped out of the car with great gusto. This got me thinking and consequently was reminded of an anonymous posting I had found in reading and thought....I now know what my 2015 New Years resolutions will be.....I am going to try and be more like a dog! 

Here it goes....

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

Be loyal.

Run, romp and play daily.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

When you are happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

No matter how often you are scolded, don’t buy into the guilt thing and pout…run right back and make friends.

When it’s in your best interest, practice obedience.

Let others know when they have invaded your territory.

Take naps and stretch before rising.

Never pretend to be something you’re not.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.

So there you have it, my New Years Resolutions...we can learn a lot from dogs...certainly some things worth barking about!
